About Hallie Swan | In Red Lodge Montana & Virtually Everywhere
Hello, my name is Hallie Swan, LCPC, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist offering psychospiritual counseling in Red Lodge, Montana, and online throughout Montana. I provide virtual therapy sessions for individuals and couples statewide, blending trauma-informed care with integrative spiritual support. My work centers on helping clients move through emotional trauma and step into their highest spiritual potential.
Trauma, whether overt or subtle, can lead to limiting beliefs and patterns that confine our sense of self. I work with individuals to deconstruct these narratives and explore the expansive possibilities beyond disempowering self-concepts.
I offer guidance to those on spiritual awakening journeys, helping them translate personal insight into sacred activism and purposeful action. I also support justice advocates looking to reconnect with the spiritual roots of their mission, while addressing personal and relational challenges within the broader context of social and environmental change. My approach integrates somatic psychotherapy for survivors of sexual trauma, emphasizing healing, empowerment, and the reclamation of sexual vitality.
I work with clients navigating:
Codependency
Anxiety and relational trauma
Chronic illness (with an emphasis on brain retraining and transformation)
I have personally experienced the dissonance between inner spiritual truth and external materialism, which led me to seek deeper meaning and healing. My own spiritual path began at age 20, grounding me in the practices I now bring to others. I aim to provide a sanctuary where clients can safely express their full selves—anger, pain, fear, joy, vitality—without judgment.
My work is rooted in somatic trauma therapy, sexual violence response, and informed by indigenous wisdom, meditation, energy medicine, and metaphysics. I also draw from years of experience mentoring transition-age youth, incorporating restorative justice, collective resourcing, and rites of passage. My therapeutic lens is always earth-honoring, feminist, and grounded in social justice.
I earned my Master’s in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2017 and trained at the Pierce Street Integral Counseling Center. I currently serve as a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate in Red Lodge, Montana and provide inclusive care to clients of all backgrounds and orientations.

How To Find The Right Therapist For You In Bozeman Montana
It can feel overwhelming when you decide to work with a therapist. Our modern world makes finding a therapist online somewhat easier, but there are so many qualified therapists to choose from. Many people begin their therapy search using a popular website called Psychology Today because there are many search options, which makes the process somewhat more streamlined, but still challenging. You may want a counselor with certain skills or life-experience, or gender, race or religion may also play a role for you. When searching for a counselor or psychologist in Montana, it’s important to find someone who not only has the skills, experience and training to help you with your concerns, but someone with whom you feel comfortable—therapists call this a “good fit.” Finding the right therapist for you is the most important aspect of effective therapy and healing, as healing tends to happen in the context of supportive and corrective relationships. If you have been referred by a friend, colleague or physician, we will consider this as well. If we do not feel like we are a good fit for you, we will always make a referral with other experienced counselors within the community.
After you reach out, you will be sent electronic versions of our intake paperwork, which includes confidentiality, policy and insurance information to be completed prior to your first session. If you will be conducting sessions virtually or online, you will be sent a link prior to your session time. When working virtually, we use a HIPPA-compliant video conferencing platform called SimplePractice, which we think is easy and convenient to use. Early sessions will be an opportunity to get to know you better and to clarify your counseling goals. Typically sessions are weekly as this gives you the opportunity to develop a relationship with your therapist. Sometimes, if you are experiencing a personal or professional crisis, you may need to meet more frequently. Experience tells us that therapy is most effective when it is weekly and consistent. As treatment goals are met, you will have the opportunity to reevaluate your ongoing counseling needs.
